Amy Rees Anderson

In 1996, Amy Rees Anderson began her first company with only $23,000 in seed capital and went on to raise over $50 million of capital for several successful ventures.  She successfully launched an Internet based Medical Software Company, where she was responsible for the design, user interface, and logic specification of the nation's first 100% Web-based medical practice management system for physician offices.   In order to give back she went on to launch IPOP, LLC, which stands for In Pursuit of Perfection, a public speaking and entrepreneurial consulting company dedicated to helping others learn to excel.  Amy teaches entrepreneurship classes at several Universities and is a well respected public speaker.

Today, Amy is the CEO of MediConnect Global, Inc. (www.mediconnect.net) , an online medical record retrieval company with over 1,000 employees worldwide.  MediConnect utilizes state-of-the-art web technologies and a patented workflow design to facilitate the retrieval of patient medical records for the Legal, Life Insurance, and Health Insurance industries, as well as individual consumers.     

Amy works closely with Governor Jon Huntsman, Jr.  During his campaign, she spoke at press conferences, appeared in commercials, and assisted in writing the economic development plan for the state of Utah.  Amy was also a co-chair for the Governor's Inauguration and a member of the Governor's transition team.  Amy serves on the Utah State GOED Board (Governor's board of economic development).  
Amy also serves on the Utah Valley University Business Advisory Board, the University of Utah's Technology Commercialization Board, South East Asian Studies Board, and Humanities Board.  She has previously served on the Brigham Young Universities E-Business School Board and the Westminster College Master Track Mentor Board.


Amy has received numerous awards including the very prestigious Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur of the Year Award", the MWCN "Entrepreneur of the Year Award", the “Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award” from the Small Business Administration, the “Top Woman on the Move Award” from Utah Business Magazine, , and the “UITA Million Dollar Award”.
    
Amy has previously served on the board of Young Entrepreneurs Organization - Utah Chapter, as President for the HIMSS-Utah Chapter, as Chairperson for the TIPAA National Biodefense Committee, as well as serving on the Utah/Silicon Valley Alliance Venture Capital and Education Committees.

 

She has been featured on the cover of Inc. Magazine as well as such publications as the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Fast Company, Business Week, and many others for her numerous accomplishments.
